What does “extra light” mean when buying gold chains?

When looking at bracelets or chains the extra-light has a minute weight difference but maybe about a $20 price diff. Eg. machine made rope 8 inch 5mm $200 5.7 grams. then the extra light is $162 5.2 grams. I cant tell the diff in weight does extra light have anything other to do with weight?
I just cant tell the difference
