See if its easy to bend…real gold is pretty easy to bend.

Fake gold leaves a teal-black mark on your finger if its a ring, and some other fake gold is bendable and crappy…….CHOOSE ME FOR BEST ANSWER AND I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVERRRR !

  8. DrDebate Says:

Real gold is actually quiet soft, you can bite it and your teeth will make indentations, you could also ask a jeweler.

If its to shinny or not shinny at all. Take it to a jewelry store they can tell you!!!

Ask at a jewelery shop, they will test it and tell you, not only if it is real but its quality (how pure it is)

Put some bleach in a cup, and if they bleach comes up with bubbles, its real. There will be fizzing as well, if not, it fake.

well if you researched degrassi you would know. remember when snake shows emms how to detect fake gold. If you put it in your ass and it itches then it is fake if it is suprisingly fresh it is real

You could take a bite of it and check for dents, if you find that a bit unhygienic, hold a magnet to it, fools gold is magnetis real gold is not.

  14. bobthebuilderslovechild Says:

Either take it to a jewellers and they can test it for you or use a magnet.

  15. Ashley Says:

Real gold has a better shine than a fake one. Otherwise, one common method is a chlorine test. Real gold changes its color when in contact with chlorine. However, if you want to avoid the risk of damaging your gold, the best way is to have it tested. That means an acid test or a test using one of the newer electronic gold testers some jewelers use.

  16. Brendan C Says:

The density is much different in real gold vs fools gold. Look up the density of Pyrite and the density of Gold, then test your sample to see which one it is closer to.
