How come Thom Hartmann and Randie Rhoades can encourage people to buy gold and arent berated for it?

buying gold
Loo Sid asked:

Beck has Goldline as a major advertiser because some racist group accused him of racism. Why isnt the left decrying their beloved Air America hosts the same thing??

I listen to both sides and both sides are saying, BUY GOLD NOW

I know. Amazing, isn’t it? What sort of idiot would buy gold at its peak! This is such a racket and I am really losing respect for anyone who would, with a clear conscience, recommend gold at a time like this. People tend to respect and trust these people, right or left, Hannity or Rhoades and these people are doing a serious disservice. I’ve thought of calling and making this point, but these folks will just have to look out for themselves. But yeah. Bugs me, big time. RitchWilliams

Because the media has painted Beck as some racist republican lunatic. When if you have actually listened to his show on the radio or television you would now he is not any sort of lunatic at all, but a patriot of liberty, he calls out corruption as he see’s it, and pleads for constitutional conservatism, smaller government, and a non biased form of journalism. In my own opinion he is the thomas paine of our time. My hope is that history will perceive him as such.

Beck suggested people to buy Gold before he ever was sponsored by goldline.. He was also was asked to advertise GM, but he refused even after they offered him a near 7 digit figure for his name all because they where in bed with the government. That says allot about this man’s name and character.

I didn’t buy gold but I sure bought silver No religion in this pub

  11. tonalc2 Says:

Both Thom and Randi are reading ad copy for a company who sells gold coins. Nothing wrong with that, as there’s nothing wrong with Beck reading ad copy as well.

However, they don’t tout gold as the savior of the world on their shows; Beck does, which goes far beyond reading a sponsor’s copy.

Here’s some drivel from his show: “When the system eventually collapses, and the government comes with guns and confiscates, you know, everything in your home and all your possessions, and then you fight off the raving mad cannibalistic crowds that Ted Turner talked about, don’t come crying to me. I told you: get gold.” tonalc2

  12. Polly Corington Says:

To tonalc2: If he is asking for people to buy and physically possess gold - usually a good idea – I don’t think hungry, now cannibalistic American neighbors will miss your gold supply while searching for food.

To RitchWilliams: Buying gold now is not a very happy thought being at a very high price right now. However, we should buy and hold gold and other precious metals as a hedge against inflation and poor economic policy. This is the traditional purpose of holding metal. It may still be a good idea to buy high, but we should all remember to buy low and hold whenever possible. Don’t hold it against salesmen too much; it’s what they do. It’s up to us to act with due diligence, and tone down the loud, frantic voices of salesmen to a low roar.
