is it safe to buy gold for world of warcraft?

Buying gold is a good way to get yourself banned quick. If you buy the gold, even if you shuffle it among accounts, it’ll throw up red flags and you’ll likely get caught. Plus, going to gold buying sites isn’t especially safe, as they often have keyloggers and the like that you can get on your computer so they can steal the whole account. Pyetr

I bought a brand new account once just to buy gold. I did it month ago and I’m still not banned. However, my plan was to send it to my main account, and the sending it through the mail might get them both banned, so I chickened out of my plan (the same plan you’re thinking of).
The way the gold sites usually work is they contact you in game, and actually trade it to your character directly (not through the mail like they used to).
I have no idea how Blizzard monitors such a transaction, or if they are even capable of it in the first place.
However, it’s probably not worth the risk. If my ‘new’ account get’s banned, I don’t care. I still have my main.
I would recommend just leveling in Outlands without the flying mount (that’s how it used to be done anyways!). Before level 70, the quests will have made you enough money to buy the flying mount. That’s the safe and ‘real’ way to earn the gold.
This also saves you a lot of real life money (buying the new account and buying gold online). Dustin M

its not 100% safe, but I would recomend you make smaller gold purchases vs buying a ton of gold in one transaction. that way you make a smaller blip on the radar vs holy crap this guy went from 0g to 10k in one day. Gabe

You will most likely get banned really quick for that one. I have had several friends get banned for it. There are some great ways to make gold legit though.
Start with mining thorium. At 60 it’s a very profitable solution. I consistently sell it for 60 gold a stack.
