i noticed lately that so many places are looking to buy your old gold/silver jewelry at decent prices. i also see a lot ads in the papers/periodicals that are looking for the same thing. whats the deal? if i wanted to sell back some of mine, what should i look out for? how do i know i am getting what i should and not ripped off?

We see lots of places willing to buy our gold jewelry for lots of cash. Who is buying the gold from them?

If you sell your gold jewelry at one of those places that buys your gold, who buys the gold from them? It looks like there is a demand for the gold and we just don’t know about it and seem to be selling our gold jewelry at these places. The value of the dollar is declining and it’s no longer backed by gold. What happens if the dollar collapses?

I’d like to start buying gold jewelry. Can I tell quality from the price or are the sales just as good?

I can spend around $100 and will be using this jewelry to sell if I fall on hard times. Is this a good idea?

Should I sell my gold jewelry on Ebay or take it to a “We Buy Gold” place?

I used to work for a jewelry shop and bought a ton of 14 & 10kt jewelry. Now I only wear silver, don’t ever wear my gold stuff anymore and need some money. Where would I get more money for my gold? Ebay, pawnshop, or a “We buy gold” place.

where can we find a company buys gold jewelry?

MY Grandfather said his wedding band was 24k gold, but two “gold buying” shops said it’s cheap quality and only worth $30-$50. HOw to tell the true carats & quality ? How many $ per gram is current value ?

With a shortage of GOLD coins, would buying GOLD jewelry be a good substitute?

There is currently a high demand for GOLD in this economy. However, now there is a shortage of GOLD because people are hoarding them as a financial safe haven. The only other GOLD that is available is jewelry. However, I hear that jewelry has less value and don’t hold up as well as actual GOLD bullion bars and coins.

But with GOLD in such high demand would buying jewelry be sensible alternative?
