If it is marked, get your gold acid tested or buy your own kit to test for Karat percentage using acids, a fine scraper and a scale(a HS chemistry student can help you) , once you know you have real gold, KEEP IT! Gold will be worth money whether it is in jewelry or in bullion. It will never rust. If yoou sell old jewelry, you may be selling precious antique designs which are worth more because of who made them than merely because they are gold. If you have gold and it is real and marked, keep it!!!! If it goes up, fine, if gold goes down, you can still wear it as jewelry. Not many people wear bullion as it is to heavy and valuable and often in weird shapes. It is ugly. Keep your gold jewelry because it will not cease being either jewelry or gold!
